Earth is considered as 5th largest planet in our solar system. It is the 3rd planet from the Sun. It revolves around the orbit of sun with 149,600,000 km. It has a diameter of 12,756.3 km and weighs a mass about 5.972e24 Kg. The Goddess of the Earth was Tellus i.e., the fertile of soil. The name of the Goddess is derived from Roman Mythology. The Earth is divided by several layers. 0- 40 Crust 40- 400, Upper mantle 400- 650, Transition region 650-2700, Lower mantle 2700-2890, D'' layer 2890-5150, Outer core 5150-6378. Inner core Earth is covered with oceans and continents. The crust size will be thinner in ocean and thicker in continent. Earth is the densest major body in solar system. The atmosphere of Earth is 77% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, with argon, carbon dioxide and water. Earth has only one natural satellite and thousands of artificial satellites are orbiting around the Earth.
